
Saints Claim Scottish Varsity Glory in Front of Sellout Crowd at the HIVE Stadium
The University of St Andrews Men’s 1st XV delivered a composed and courageous performance to defeat the University of Edinburgh 21-12 and reclaim the 2026 Men’s Scottish Varsity title in front of a sellout crowd at the HIVE Stadium. Tries from Keenan Mills, Ruari Mavin and Mika Schubert helped the Saints build an 18-0 lead before Edinburgh mounted a spirited second-half comeback. Despite intense pressure and a period reduced to 14 men, St Andrews showed outstanding defensive resilience to protect their advantage, with Chris Black’s late penalty securing the victory. Scrum-half Ollie Bloore was named Steven Sims Man of the Match following an influential display as the Saints celebrated a memorable Varsity triumph.
